Welcome

to Home Biz Success Training! I’m so glad you found your way here!

I’m Kathy Bales, your Success Guide. I’ve been working on the Internet since 1999 and I’ve tried more than a few things to make money (more about that later) – and spent a fortune! Maybe you can relate. Over that time I’ve discovered a few things that work and I’ve learned that you don’t have to spend a fortune to have a successful business. But you do have to spend something. There really is no such thing as a free lunch.

If you’ve been looking at starting or growing an online, home based business for more than about 15 minutes, you’ve doubtless heard the expression “the money is in the list” and that is very true. But the question is, how do you get a list? I mean, everybody has to start somewhere, right? And the best place to start is building a list.

The common wisdom is that you offer something of value for free in exchange for a person’s email address (an “ethical bribe”). But how do you find the people who want it? You find out where your ideal peeps hang out and you get your offer in front of them. In other words, you don’t have to get traffic to your offer, you just find out where the traffic already is and step in front of it. Sounds a little dangerous, doesn’t it?

So where does your traffic hang out? Well, I did some research recently and learned that MY particular audience hangs out on Facebook and YouTube mostly. Maybe yours does too. Think about where you hang out online. Very often you’ll find that your audience is you, five years ago or even one year ago.

One problem that comes up with that is that Facebook doesn’t like it when you post links or content that takes your readers away from Facebook unless you’re paying for an ad. So if you post an external link, they will “throttle” you (show your post to only a few of your followers). But you just want to test your offer before paying for an ad, to see if it catches on (“converts”), so you need to get your links in front of your peeps without an ad.

So how do you do that?
